Mediation: Best Practices & Pitfalls

Please join us for a panel discussion hosted by Rower LLC and the NYWBA Matrimonial and Family Law Committee regarding mediation. The panel will be moderated by Leslie Sullivan, Esq. and Annie Van Genugten, Esq. of Rower LLC. 

Attendees are eligible to receive 1.5 professional practice CLE credits.

We will feature the following retired New York Supreme Court Justices as panelists:

Hon. Douglas Hoffman (RET.)

When divorcing parties reach an impasse in attorney-led settlement negotiations, the use of a neutral third-party mediator can be an optimal alternative to judicial intervention. This panel will explore topics such as when mediation is appropriate, advice for successful mediation outcomes, pitfalls to avoid in mediation, recommendations for how to best advocate for a client in mediation, and the neutral’s role in mediation.
