SARAH GUTMAN

Associate

Sarah Gutman joined Rower LLC as an associate in February 2024. She represents clients in all areas of matrimonial and family law, including prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, divorce, custody and support proceedings, orders of protection, and fertility law. She also maintains an active pro bono practice, which focuses on gender-based violence and reproductive justice, and she serves on the pro bono council for Sanctuary for Families. 

Prior to joining Rower LLC, Sarah was an associate in the litigation and enforcement group at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP, where she represented clients in a broad range of matters including securities litigation, employment litigation, bankruptcy litigation, and regulatory investigations. Sarah also spent a year as a Cleary Gottlieb Pro Bono Fellow at Brooklyn Defender Services, where she focused on employment law and higher education access.

Sarah graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in political science and classics. She received her JD from Harvard Law School, where she served as co-president of the Harassment/Assault Law-Student Team (HALT) and communications chair for the Harvard Journal of Law and Gender.

When she’s not working, Sarah enjoys reading mystery novels and cheering on the New York Rangers and Knicks. A born Brooklynite, Sarah lives in Brooklyn with her partner and her cat Luna and dog Millie. She also serves on the junior board of the Kings County Tennis League, a nonprofit that provides tennis and educational programming for children living in and around Brooklyn public housing.
