ANITA ROJAS CARROLL
Associate
Anita joined Rower as an associate in May of 2021. She is a firm believer in client-centered practice and holistic advocacy. This ethos presides over her work representing clients in all facets of matrimonial proceedings, including custody, child support, family offense matters, and prenuptial agreements. She is particularly skilled at representing her clients’ interests in litigated matrimonial actions and international and cross-border cases.
Beginning her family law career as a staff attorney at Safe Horizon’s Domestic Violence Law Project, Anita represented survivors of intimate partner violence in matters of custody, child support, divorce, and orders of protection in New York City’s family and supreme courts.
Anita remains dedicated to public service and involvement in the legal community. She is part of the New Leaders Program with the Legal Aid Society, which advocates for equal justice and provides critical legal representation for all New Yorkers, regardless of identity or income. She previously served as co-chair of the New York Women’s Bar Association Matrimonial and Family Law Committee from 2022 to 2025.
In 2023, she was awarded The LGBT Bar Association of New York’s Pro Bono Excellence Award for her work representing the non-biological mother of a child in a parentage and custody dispute.
Outside of work, Anita enjoys traveling and keeping up with the city’s array of art museums and plays. She resides in Brooklyn with her husband and their two rescue animals.
